photoMr. Bell graduated from Summersville High School as valedictorian of his graduating class in 1984. He then left for college, graduating from Southwest Missouri State University in 1988. His degree was in History Education with a minor in Business Education. 
 
Upon graduation from college, Mr. Bell accepted his first teaching position at Cooter High School in extreme southeast Missouri. His duties there included teaching history, coaching boys basketball and baseball , and serving as athletic director and bus driver. Mr. Bell served in this position for three years. During those three years he re-started a long dormant baseball program that has since become a class 1 power. 
 
In the summer of 1992, Mr. Bell relocated to Plato and assumed the position of history teacher, basketball coach, volleyball coach, and athletic director. Mr. Bell likes to tell the story of being the only athletic director in the state of Missouri whose phone was on a party line. It was during the summer following his year at Plato that Mr. Bell began working on his Master of Science in Education in the field of Educational Administration. 
 
In the summer of 1993, Mr. Bell accepted the position of history teacher, volleyball coach, and assistant basketball coach at Seymour High School. After two years in that position, during which time he completed his Master’s degree and certification requirements to become a principal, he was given the opportunity to become elementary principal. Mr. Bell served in that position for five years. In 2000 he moved to the newly completed middle school where he has continued to serve as the building principal. He completed his Specialist in Education Degree in 1999. For the past ten years Mr. Bell has served as a Professor for William Woods University, teaching classes in the field of educational administration. 
 
During his 20 years as a part of the Seymour community, Mr. Bell has been very active. He served on the both the local and regional board of the Ozarks Family YMCA for several years. Mr. Bell organized and operated a youth basketball league serving many of our local youth for five years. He also coached many basketball, baseball and soccer teams for the YMCA and volunteers for many local civic events. 
 
Mr. Bell has been married to his wife Jill for nearly 25 years. He has two sons, Logan a sophomore at Missouri State University, and Landon who is currently a freshman at Seymour High School.
