Seymour R-II School District has a K-12 student population of 685 and a preschool population of 60 students attending half-days, at no charge. The district is fully accredited and was accredited "With Distinction in Performance," until the state award was discontinued. Our four-year graduation rate is 92% compared to the state rate of 89%. Almost 90% of our students take the ACT with a composite score of 19.80 compared to the state 20.20 composite score. Our teacher-to-student ratio is 1:17 and just over half of our teachers have advanced degrees with an average of 12.7 years of teaching. Our free and reduced student percentage is 64.1% of the student population. The district has an annual seven million dollar budget with over two million in reserve. In addition to the normal extracurricular activities for boys and girls such as softball, baseball and basketball; we have a golf team, swim team, marching band, cross country team, and a bass fishing club.
